I have insurance, why would I use this? +
If you have a high-deductible private insurance plan, your "contracted rate" might actually be higher than our MDsave cash price. Buying upfront allows you to save immediate cash. You can also submit your receipt to your insurance provider to apply the out-of-pocket cost toward your annual deductible.
Is this just a discount coupon? +
Not at all. MDsave provides a pre-negotiated, all-inclusive bundle. When you pay upfront, you are buying the entire service, including the hospital's facility fees and the doctor's reading fees. This completely eliminates surprise billing later on.
Do I still need a doctor's order? +
Yes. While you can browse prices and purchase your voucher at any time to lock in your discounted rate, you must still have a valid medical order or prescription from your physician to actually receive the imaging, lab, or cardiology services.
Can I use my HSA or FSA account? +
Absolutely. MDsave purchases are considered eligible medical expenses. You can use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) debit card directly at checkout on the MDsave website.
What happens if I need to cancel my appointment? +
MDsave offers a full refund on any unredeemed vouchers. If your doctor changes their mind about a procedure, if you need to reschedule indefinitely, or if you simply need to cancel, you can request a full refund through MDsave with no penalty.
